These empty-nesters were unhappy with their dysfunctional kitchen and had a big vision for the changes. Creating an open floorplan with sightlines and a highly functional/beautiful kitchen with lots of island seating was the priority. We designed custom low-back swivel stools so that they weren’t visible over the counter. The counter stools and chairs around the round table were sight-unseen so the clients really had to trust that these were going to come together and work beautifully in their space… and they did! We went with a classic white cabinet and warmer tones in the stools and the gorgeous quartzite countertops.
Kitchen Reno, Laundry, Bath, and Dining Updates.
Leading into the dining room, the real showstopper here is the traditional dining table which we had refinished and then added mid-century modern chairs, beautiful lighting, and textured wallpaper to give new life to this room.
In the laundry room a bench, broom closet, and plenty of storage for organization were key. The fun tile floors carry into the bathroom where we used a wallpaper full of big, happy florals.
The old fireplace was clunky and non-functional. We added a bar to create a nicer flow for entertaining, storage, and display shelves with lighting. The swivels were done in a custom fabric to compliment the existing sofa while tying in the khaki, rust and olive green colors the client loves.
This home will be enjoyed by the client’s family for years to come!
